Melaleuca Wildlife is run by an experienced and registered wildlife carer.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

As caretakers of this wildlife shelter, we recognize the deep connection that the Bunurong people have with the land, its flora, and fauna. We acknowledge the importance of their cultural heritage and ongoing contributions to the vibrant tapestry of our community.

In the spirit of reconciliation, we commit to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment that honours the diversity of Australia's First Nations peoples. We acknowledge the need for ongoing education and understanding, and we strive to work collaboratively towards a future that embraces and celebrates the richness of Indigenous cultures.

May we continue to learn from the wisdom of the Bunurong people and all First Nations communities as we endeavour to protect and rehabilitate the precious wildlife that inhabits this land.

Always was, Always will be.
