Founded by Cornelia

Melaleuca Wildlife began its journey in 2018.

As a registered Vet Nurse and seasoned wildlife rescuer, Cornelia founded Melaleuca Wildlife to provide a safe haven for native Australian wildlife during their dependent stages of rehabilitation.

Cornelia holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Biomedicine and has completed Taronga Zoo’s “Veterinary Professional Training in Wildlife Treatment and Care” course. Cornelia also holds multiple certificates in nursing and wildlife care, including: Clinical Wildlife Triage, Caring for Native Mammals, Avian Anaesthetics, and Flying Fox Care.

She started dedicating her life to wildlife care when she realised she could not imagine doing anything else!

How we do it..

Melaleuca Wildlife is volunteer-based and runs solely on donations. We are lucky to have a community of caring persons supporting our wildlings!

It certainly is not the easiest of jobs but everyone’s kindness and support along the way makes it magical. The animals give so much love too.

Why we do it!

We believe, the smallest thing we can do is to provide love and comfort to animals in need.

It is their world we are living in, and we are the reason behind their sufferings.

Melaleuca Wildlife aims to provide safe shelter and rehabilitation for native Australian animals in need, of all shapes and sizes. Our aim is to be able to rehabilitate animals with an end goal of releasing back into the wild.

We want to provide them with the opportunity to live the life they were meant to live. Because of this, a lot of sad comes with the work we do - but we are proud to advocate for our animals and let their needs be heard in all forms.
